Don't touch short-term options,

If you must buy options, only buy those of the Seven Sisters.

Buy options with more than one month to expiration.

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)$Tesla(TSLA.US)$Coreweave(CRWV.US)To be honest, I'm a bit confused now. It's been three months since I started trading U.S. stocks, and I've lost 70%. The remaining funds are not much, and I don't know which stocks to buy. Buying regular stocks won't get me many shares, and the profit is only a few dozen dollars. When will I ever break even? I've been trading options for half a month, with daily fluctuations of hundreds or thousands of dollars. For someone like me who's currently losing money, buying regular stocks is out of the question.

Let's talk about options. Initially, because of the losses, I heard that options could yield big returns, so I sold my regular stocks to switch to options. Indeed, I recovered my losses quickly—just a few minutes if the direction was right. At first, I even made some profit. But later, I bought the wrong direction, didn't stop the loss in time, and kept adding to my position, eventually losing everything.

Thoughts on options: When the underlying stock doesn't fluctuate much, the decay is severe. Whether the stock goes up or down, the options might still drop. They fall fast but take a long time to recover, if they ever do. Short-term and long-term options each have their drawbacks. Options only make sense when the underlying stock experiences significant ups and downs.

Also, the bid-ask spread for options can be quite large. Sometimes, a small price difference can mean missing the chance to buy or sell in time, making it hard to exit quickly.

I feel options are more suitable for quick in-and-out trades, with timely profit-taking and stop-loss.

I've never bought long-term options spanning several months, so I don't know how their prices fluctuate.
