
TSMC and UMC both said all operations are normal after a 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Hualien, east Taiwan Wednesday evening, media report, noting the temblor only registered magnitude-3 in Tainan and 2 in Hsinchu, two of the chipmakers’ main bases of operation.
