In the past decade or so, the US has experienced a super bull market, with tech giants driving the S&P to significantly outperform overseas markets; however, historically there was a full ten-year period where US stocks underperformed developed overseas markets.
If US stock valuations correct from high levels in the future, it is entirely possible that a similar situation could be repeated.
