Recently, CATL signed a strategic cooperation agreement on sodium-ion energy storage with Dutch energy infrastructure company Alfen. Bernstein released its Global Energy Storage Tracking Report, stating that global energy storage battery demand is expected to reach 1,023GWh (gigawatt-hours, a unit of electrical energy equivalent to 1 million megawatt-hours) in 2026, a year-on-year increase of 86%. The report noted that China's cumulative energy storage battery shipments for the first five months reached 406.9GWh, up 107% year-on-year, with capacity utilization rising to 94%.
