I finally understand why the leftover women within the system don't get married. Although they're good-looking, their standards are too high.

There's a woman in our unit, 36 years old and still single. She's really not bad-looking, fair skin and tall, a bachelor's degree graduate, working as an accountant in the finance department, earning just a few thousand yuan a month.

A while ago, the union elder sister introduced her to a guy who runs a car repair shop. She met him once and came back hardly talking. The union elder sister kept asking her how it went. She said she got annoyed just seeing the guy wearing a Polo shirt with the collar turned up. The union elder sister was stunned and asked, "What's wrong with the collar being turned up? He earns over 20,000 yuan a month!" She said, "20,000 isn't much. My dad's pension is nearly 9,000."

Later, the HR person also introduced someone to her, a guy from a bank, a 985 graduate student, decent-looking too. But she said he was too short, and it wouldn't be suitable to stand together with her wearing high heels.

Later, I thought about this. Are they really unmarriageable? Actually, not really. It's just that they have a scale in their hearts, a scale meant for weighing men within the system. When they use it to weigh men from outside, it always falls a bit short. But there are very few men within the system to begin with. A bureau might only have one or two single guys, and the competition is fierce.

I have a classmate in the district finance bureau. He said a guy there got divorced in the morning, and by the afternoon, someone was already at his door trying to arrange a match. Really, no exaggeration.

Do you have any female colleagues around you who are quite well-conditioned but have remained single all along?
