Domestic tech giants are all piling into applications like "AI + food delivery," essentially eyeing the huge, closed market, with everyone wanting a piece of the pie. That's understandable. But on the other hand, those foreign companies focused on using AI to boost productivity are racing ahead technologically while simultaneously conducting massive layoffs and drastically cutting labor costs. Following this trend, future layoffs will only become more severe, potentially even triggering a global industrial crisis, from which even tech workers might not be spared.
If even tech workers are being replaced, where will ordinary people, who depend on the industrial chain, find employment?
In theory, the core users of AI should be tech professionals; ordinary users subscribe to and use AI essentially to improve efficiency, and most people in their jobs are already in execution and support roles. But if capital directly uses AI to bypass a large amount of human labor, getting more work done with fewer people, then public income and purchasing power will inevitably shrink significantly.
At that point, I'd like to ask further: can the profits generated by AI really support its continuous cash burn and rapid iteration?
Once profitability fails to keep up with investment and the bubble bursts, the capital that flooded in during the early frenzy, the overextended expectations, and the collapse in demand caused by widespread unemployment could very likely resonate and amplify each other, triggering a massive economic crisis.
AI was supposed to be a tool for improving efficiency, but now it's being driven by capital to grow recklessly, much like the real estate bubble, harvesting the future and overdrawing growth in advance. Yet few people confront the most fundamental issue: when the employment, income, and survival of the vast majority of ordinary people can no longer be sustained, the bubble will burst accordingly, and the resulting disaster will be devastating.
