Nio signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CATL in Ningde, Fujian last night, aiming to "create the world's largest and most advanced battery swapping service network for passenger vehicles." Based on this, CATL expressed its intention to make a strategic investment of no more than RMB 2.5 billion in Nio Energy. This means that Nio has broken the closed battery swapping system for the first time, extending its user ecosystem from high-end brands to the mid-to-low-end market, while CATL accelerates the penetration of its chocolate battery swapping ecosystem in the passenger vehicle sector with endorsements from leading car manufacturers. Affected by this news, Nio's Hong Kong stock surged over 17% at one point, driving the A-share market's battery-swapping concept stocks to strengthen, but CATL's stock price did not see a significant increase.

On one side, Nio and CATL are collaborating in the battery swapping field, while on the other side, BYD has made a high-profile announcement of its "Flash Charge Battery." BYD held a super e-platform technology release and Han L, Tang L pre-sale conference, launching the super e-platform and introducing the flash charge battery, 30,000 RPM motor, and a new generation of automotive-grade silicon carbide power chips. According to BYD's chairman, this technology can achieve a maximum charging voltage of 1000V, a maximum charging current of 1000A, a maximum charging rate of 10C, a maximum charging power of 1MW, and a peak charging speed of 2 kilometers in 1 second, allowing for a 407-kilometer charge in 5 minutes, far exceeding the current mainstream supercharging technology of 400kw to 600kw.
