$Tesla(TSLA.US) continues to dollar-cost average, having experienced such declines before.
According to: Wedbush has included it in its list of top investment recommendations, stating "the time has come"/Cowen recommends buying and shifting tracking coverage.
Wedbush believes that the current market sentiment towards Tesla is at a historic "testing moment," similar to the production issues of 2017-2018 and the challenges faced during the acquisition of Twitter. They acknowledge bearish concerns in the market, including weak global sales, Musk's political stance damaging the brand, competition from China, and leadership distractions, but remain optimistic. Their view is: "This is the beginning of the largest innovation and technology cycle in Tesla's history." They emphasized four driving factors: first, launching a model priced below $35,000 before summer to achieve an annual delivery target of 2 million vehicles; second, full self-driving (FSD) technology is expected to achieve an unsupervised release in Austin this June (this technology alone is valued at $1 trillion); third, Tesla's full self-driving technology is expected to be licensed to other automakers; fourth, autonomous driving technology and the Optimus robot will account for 90% of Tesla's future valuation exceeding $2 trillion.
Regarding concerns about Musk-related issues, they estimate that global sales facing risks from political backlash are less than 5%, and expect improvements in time management between DOGE and Tesla by 2025, believing that the Trump administration will bring favorable deregulation policies for Tesla's autonomous driving development roadmap.
Cowen's recommendation is relatively concise, simply stating: "With the stock price significantly corrected, we hold a tactically optimistic view on several potential major driving factors this year (electric vehicle releases, autonomous driving deployment without intervention, robotics technology). Tesla is also less affected by tariffs. The situation is similar to last year. The first quarter may be challenging."
