Google published a paper in the journal Nature on Monday stating that it has found a method to link the qubits of the Willow chip together. As the number of qubits increases, not only does the error rate decrease, but errors can also be corrected in real-time, which is a key step towards the commercial application of quantum computing.

Quantum chips have enormous potential in various fields in the future, including AI large models, drug discovery, nuclear fusion, and battery design. For example, in the AI field, quantum computing is significant for collecting training data that classical machines cannot access, training and optimizing certain learning architectures, and modeling systems where quantum effects are important.

Overnight, Google's parent company Alphabet (GOOGL) rose 5.59%, leading the telecommunications sector of the S&P 500.
