
GlobalWafers, the 3rd biggest silicon wafer maker behind Japan’s Shin-Etsu and SUMCO, said demand for 12-inch wafers has fully recovered thanks to AI, and it is in talks with customers over 2nd half price hikes to offset rising costs, depreciation, media report, citing Chair Doris Hsu. She also said 12-inch square silicon wafers have been sent to clients for verification and hopes to be in mass production in the 4th quarter.
