
Meta’s plan to launch a new custom AI chip every 6-months for the next 2-years means big orders for TSMC’s 3nm and 4nm nodes, media report, adding the strategy puts pressure on rivals that do just 1 chip each year. Meta’s new MTIA 300, 400, 450, 500 are RISC-V-based custom AI chips built with Broadcom. Taiwan's KYEC will test the chips, with ASE on packaging. The MTIA 300 is already in production, while MTIA 400 is undergoing testing.
