
Spot prices for passive components called MLCCs (Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitors) have soared 20% in China, and Taiwan makers Yageo, Walsin Tech, are likely to negotiate higher contract prices, media report. MLCCs are made in such massive volumes, they are known as the ‘rice’ of the electronics industry.
