U.S. HOME PRICES EDGE HIGHER IN SEPTEMBER

U.S. home prices rose 0.2% in September, matching August’s gain and marking a second straight month of modest growth, Redfin reported. Prices were up 3% year over year, the slowest annual increase since 2012. Redfin said high mortgage rates, elevated prices, and cautious buyers and sellers have kept the market in a holding pattern, with prices inching up only slightly each month.
