PIPER SANDLER EXPECTS INFLATION TO EDGE UP.
With September data delayed by the government shutdown, the CPI report is due Friday, Oct. 24. Economists expect consumer prices to rise 0.34% for the month—slower than October’s 0.38%—lifting the 12-month inflation rate to around 3.0–3.1% from 2.9% in August. Tariffs are boosting goods prices, but softer service costs and moderating housing inflation could keep overall price pressures in check. The copyright of this article belongs to the original author/organization.
