
Taiwan has greatly expanded land available to semiconductor makers, media report. In Kaohsiung, where TSMC just completed its first batch of 2nm trial chips, the Nanzih Technology Industrial Park will expand to 182.57-hectares from 29 now, while the Shalun Eco-Science Park, in Tainan, Taiwan has an area of 530-hectares. Environmental assessments are underway and expected to be done by mid-2027, in line with other regulatory and prep work.
