TSMC will break ground on its first 1.4nm fab next quarter in Taichung, Taiwan, Central Taiwan Science Park Bureau officials said at a news conference, media report. The fab is expected to create 4,500 jobs and have an annual production value of NT$500 billion (US$16.5 billion). Pilot production is expected in 2027, mass production in 2028.
