SECRET SERVICE DISMANTLES TELECOM THREAT NEAR U.N. ASSEMBLY

The Secret Service said it dismantled a network of 300 servers and 100,000 SIM cards across the NYC area capable of disrupting cell service and launching telecom attacks ahead of the U.N. General Assembly.

The devices, found within 35 miles of the U.N., had links to nation-state actors and posed a major risk to U.S. officials. The investigation into the network’s origins and intent is ongoing.
