SK Hynix will work with cloud giant Naver (LINE, Naver Cloud, more) to test next-generation AI memory chips in Naver’s data centers, media report, adding SK Hynix hopes the alliance will boost the competitiveness of its memory technologies, particularly CXL (compute express link) and PIM (processing in memory). CXL expands the number of GPU to memory connections to 8-lanes, 16-lanes or more from 4-lanes now, while PIM enables computing functions in the memory chips.
