
Spot prices of Micron Technology’s June DDR4 DRAM leaped 50% as module makers scramble for the older memory chips before big chip makers end production, media report, noting Samsung Electronics’ last contracts for DDR4 will be in June, with production ceasing by end-2025. SK Hynix has also notified clients it will stop making DDR4. The chip makers want to phase out older chips to focus on cutting-edge ones.
