GLOBAL ECONOMIC GROWTH COULD SLOW TO 2.3% IN 2025, SAYS CITI

Global economic growth is projected to slow to 2.3% in 2025, from 2.8% in 2024, due to the effects of tariffs, Citi economists say in a note. "Part of the global economy's resilience reflects that the U.S. tariffs are phasing in only gradually, so the full thrust of their restraining effects has not yet been felt." The full effects are likely to surface in the second half of this year, the economists say.
