The Trump administration has initiated trade probes into semiconductors and pharmaceuticals, a precursor to imposing tariffs, media report. The US Commerce Department launched investigations April 1 into the impact on US national security of “imports of semiconductors and semiconductor manufacturing equipment” as well as “pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical ingredients.” The probes could play out for months. #semiconductors #semiconductor
