TSMC has unmatched IP library support vs its peers, giving it a durable advantage. Most of its foundry peers have <10,000 IP library support. TSMC formally launched its Open Innovation Platform (OIP) in 2008 to pre-certify 3rd party IP vendors on its nodes. More pre-certified IP libraries enable chip companies adopt TSMC nodes quickly.
