According to Zhitong Finance APP, on August 12, JD.com held a "JD Direct Procurement Investment Promotion Conference and Negotiation Meeting" in Seoul, South Korea, in collaboration with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea. At the meeting, JD.com (09618) officially announced the establishment of a localized procurement entity in South Korea to further strengthen its direct procurement business in the country. Meanwhile, JD Worldwide also signed strategic cooperation agreements with nine well-known South Korean consumer goods companies, including LLOYD and RECLOW.

JD.com Launches Direct Procurement Investment in South Korea, Over 200 Korean Companies Participate in Negotiations
With the continuous expansion and upgrading of the Chinese consumer market, the demand from Chinese consumers for high-quality, cost-effective, and diverse imported goods continues to rise. Categories such as Korean beauty products, trendy clothing, snacks, and home living have long been popular in cross-border consumption.
The negotiation meeting attracted participation from over 200 South Korean consumer goods companies. After business discussions, JD Worldwide officially signed strategic cooperation agreements with nine South Korean consumer goods companies, covering multiple categories including fashion apparel, lifestyle, and cosmetics. Through cross-border direct procurement, JD Worldwide will introduce fashion products from its partner RECLOW and open a self-operated flagship store for them on JD.com. Brands under the E-Land Group, such as LLOYD, will also directly reach Chinese consumers through JD's official flagship store.
The head of JD Worldwide's direct procurement business in South Korea stated that South Korean consumer goods, with their outstanding quality and product strength, have seen continuous sales growth on JD.com in recent years. Following the establishment of a logistics entity in South Korea, the establishment of a procurement entity now provides a one-stop cooperation entry point in Seoul, where Korean is spoken, allowing more high-quality South Korean consumer goods to be presented to Chinese consumers.
South Korean consumer brands are also looking forward to this cooperation. Kim Seong-jun, a representative of RECLOW Co., Ltd., stated: "It is not easy for small and medium-sized enterprises to enter the Chinese market solely based on product strength.
