Tencent Holdings (00700.HK) opened down 1.55% this morning (4th) and the decline widened in the early session, reaching a low of 560 HKD. It is currently reported at 562.5 HKD, down 3.18%, with a trading volume of 20.4033 million shares, involving 11.586 billion HKD.

WeChat issued an announcement titled "Crackdown on Third-Party Induced Sharing Behavior" through "WeChat Dispatch," stating that it will combat excessive marketing and induced sharing violations that have surged around the Spring Festival. The company received user feedback and complaints regarding the "Yuanbao" (gold ingot) marketing activities, which involved inducing users to frequently share links in WeChat groups through methods such as "completing tasks" and "receiving red envelopes," disrupting the platform's ecological order, affecting user experience, and causing harassment to users.

After assessment, the company has taken action against the violating links related to Yuanbao, restricting them from being opened directly within WeChat. The relevant measures take effect immediately. The company will continue to monitor the operation of various Spring Festival marketing activities, combining user feedback and adhering to platform rules to effectively safeguard user experience
