CHERY AUTO Fengyun is going to be "unreserved" again

The large six-seater SUV Fengyun T11 is launched
When price wars become the main theme of the 200,000-level SUV market, Chery's Fengyun T11 chooses to face the challenge head-on.
On the evening of October 30th, Chery, which has been particularly aggressive in the new energy sector, launched a new vehicle—the Fengyun T11. This new model is positioned as a family-oriented six-seat SUV, with four variants released, priced between 189,900 and 249,900 yuan. A limited-time trade-in subsidy can provide an additional discount of 10,000 yuan.
From the recent upgrade of Fengyun from a series to a standalone brand, it is clear that Chery's plan is for Fengyun to become the spearhead in capturing the new energy market.
Looking at the performance, Fengyun has indeed delivered impressive results. After the launch of the Fengyun A9L, its delivery volume exceeded 10,000 units for two consecutive months, contributing to Chery's sales of 91,000 new energy vehicles in September, a year-on-year increase of 55.4%.
However, competition is an infinite game, and the challenges for the new vehicle continue, especially as the Fengyun T11 enters the fiercely competitive 200,000-level large SUV market.
Geely's Galaxy M9 sets the "driving control benchmark" with CDC + air suspension and a 3DHT hybrid system, while Li Auto's L6 firmly locks in family users with its precise positioning as a "family five-seat SUV," establishing cognitive barriers in their respective segments.
Despite competitors each holding their ground, the Fengyun T11 is also strong, with over 28,000 pre-orders locked in just 18 days of pre-sale.
In terms of product strength, the Fengyun T11 boasts flagship dimensions of 520519981800mm and an ultra-long wheelbase of 3120mm. Interestingly, Li Xueyong, Executive Vice President of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., demonstrated the space in all three rows of the vehicle on-site.
In terms of range, the new vehicle is equipped with a 1.5TGDI high-efficiency range extender engine, providing 220 km of pure electric range for daily commuting and a comprehensive range of 1400 km for long-distance travel.
In today's fiercely competitive landscape of intelligent vehicles, the Fengyun T11 is equipped with the Falcon advanced driver assistance system across all variants, achieving full-scene intelligent driving functions such as highway NOA, urban NOA, and cross-floor memory parking, based on 27 perception hardware units and a 200 TOPS computing power chip.
Northeast Securities analyst Kang Hang believes that the Chery Fengyun brand is still relatively young and is in a developmental phase where its product matrix and sales channels are continuously improving. Currently, its new energy sales are still significantly lagging behind leading companies like BYD and Geely. However, as the model matrix continues to enrich, the sales of the Fengyun series are expected to continue to rise, and Chery's transformation in the mainstream family market for new energy remains a long journey.
For Chery, the success or failure of the Fengyun T11 transcends the significance of a single model. On one hand, as a Hong Kong-listed company, Chery uses this vehicle to prove the efficiency of its "technology-product-sales" chain, demonstrating to investors that technology can transform into popular hits, and its commercial monetization capability has been fully validated.
On the other hand, this vehicle also becomes a "technical anchor point" for the Chery Fengyun brand, helping the brand continuously build and improve its new energy intelligent driving system. The formation of this system will further strengthen the brand's competitive edge in the new energy sector, laying a solid technical foundation for the expansion of its future product matrix Currently, the Fengyun T11 has made a good start with 28,000 pre-sale orders. However, the real test lies in whether it can convert short-term popularity into long-term reputation, elevating Chery's new energy vehicle sales to new heights.
Nevertheless, Chery Automobile, which has completed its listing, has embarked on a new journey. As Yin Tongyue mentioned at the Chery Global Innovation Conference a few days ago: "Following 'New Energy No Reservations' and 'Intelligentization No Reservations', this year, we want to loudly proclaim: Chery's global innovation system will also be 'No Reservations'!"
