
Counterpoint: Apple iPhone 17 starts strong in China and the U.S., with sales in the first ten days up 14% compared to the previous generation

Research firm Counterpoint stated on Monday that the initial sales performance of Apple's iPhone 17 series in both the Chinese and U.S. markets has outperformed previous models. The firm noted in its report that within the first ten days of launch in these two countries, the sales of the iPhone 17 series were 14% higher than those of the iPhone 16 series. The report further added that during the same period in the Chinese market, the sales of the standard iPhone 17 were nearly double that of the standard iPhone 16; while across both the Chinese and U.S. markets, the sales growth for this model reached 31%. Senior analyst Mengmeng Zhang stated in the report: "The standard iPhone 17 is highly attractive to consumers, showcasing excellent cost-performance." She further explained: "While maintaining the same price as last year's iPhone 16, this model is equipped with a more powerful chip, an upgraded display, larger base storage capacity, and an optimized front camera." The report further added that during the same period in the Chinese market, the sales of the standard version of the iPhone 17 were nearly double that of the standard version of the iPhone 16; while in the overall scope of both the Chinese and American markets, the sales growth of this model reached 31%.
Senior analyst Mengmeng Zhang stated in the report: "The standard version of the iPhone 17 is highly attractive to consumers, showcasing excellent cost-performance ratio."
She further explained: "While maintaining the same price as last year's iPhone 16, this model is equipped with a more powerful chip, an upgraded display, larger base storage capacity, and an optimized front camera."
