CHINA LIT bets on "AI + comic drama" by opening up 100,000 IPs to seize new market opportunities

China Literature is using "AI + comic dramas" as an engine to accelerate the activation of its IP reserves.

At the 2025 China Literature Creation Conference, CEO and President Hou Xiaonan announced the upgrade of the "Creative Partner Program," officially entering the new track of comic dramas.

As a product of the short drama adaptation of anime, the comic drama market is currently experiencing explosive growth.

According to data from the Huge Engine, the monthly compound growth rate of comic drama supply reached 83% in the first half of this year, with over 3,000 works launched within six months, and revenue scale surging 12 times.

AI technology has played a key role behind the scenes: it not only significantly compresses the animation production cycle but also solves the core challenges of transforming genres like fantasy and science fiction from textual settings to visual presentations, thus paving the way for the standardization and large-scale production of comic dramas.

Hou Xiaonan stated, "Short dramas and comic dramas are becoming important engines for the visualization of IPs, which can greatly enhance the efficiency of transforming text into visuals, bringing development opportunities to a large number of IPs, and opening up new transformation paths for writers."

Unlike short dramas that focus on everyday plots, the core of comic dramas lies in the construction of worldviews. Behind the lightweight format, it relies on stronger plot tension and narrative density for support.

China Literature happens to possess a treasure trove of IPs that are yet to be developed.

Over the past decade, China Literature has gradually built the world's largest online literature ecosystem, gathering over 10 million web literature works and incubating more than 4,000 comic and game projects.

The industrial synergy model validated in the short drama field is also expected to be reused in the rapidly growing comic drama track.

As a core initiative of the "Creative Partner Program," China Literature will open up 100,000 high-quality IPs, including top titles like "National Forensic Doctor," and establish a special creation fund of 100 million yuan to support writers in cross-border content development with quality teams.

On the technology side, China Literature has officially launched a one-stop AIGC creation platform called "Comic Drama Assistant," providing full-process support from content understanding, creative suggestions to visual generation for web literature IP adaptations. This platform is currently open for reservations to cooperative studios and related universities.

In terms of industrial chain collaboration, China Literature is focused on building a full-link support system from production, distribution to IP linkage, creating an open, efficient, and win-win co-creation ecosystem for comic dramas.

Currently, China Literature has 30 comic drama works with view counts exceeding 10 million, with works like "The Son-in-law of the Ming Dynasty" and "Invincible Simulation System" surpassing 100 million views, repeatedly topping platform rankings.

The comic drama "Demoness Betrayal, I Raise an Eight-Winged Seraph" jointly launched with the leading brand "Soy Sauce Animation" has surpassed 150 million views.

At the conference, China Literature announced that "Soy Sauce Animation" has become the first team in the industry to receive its investment support. In the next three years, both parties plan to collaborate on the launch of no less than 400 comic dramas each year, with more than half of the works adapted from China Literature's IPs.

While actively expanding content form innovation, China Literature is also continuously enhancing its technical tools and platform capabilities, systematically promoting the full-link development of IPs.

In the updated AI applications, "Miao Bi Tong Jian," based on a deep understanding of millions of web literature fonts, can assist authors in detail tracing and plot summarization; "Copyright Assistant" accurately links China Literature's own million-level web literature library with downstream IP adaptation demands, improving IP development efficiency In terms of expanding the derivative ecosystem, CHINA LIT has simultaneously launched the "Global Trendy Toy Co-Creation Plan," which will collaborate with the top 100 artists worldwide to promote the incubation of original trendy toy IPs and the visualization of CHINA LIT's IP creations. It will also open up the entire industrialization capabilities to partners, covering everything from artist contracts, design supply chains to global marketing and IP collaborations.

In the first half of 2025, the total GMV of CHINA LIT's derivatives reached 480 million yuan, approaching last year's total level
