
Four popular stocks this year will be included, and the FTSE A50 Index will change its constituent stocks

On September 3rd, FTSE Russell announced the quarterly review changes for the FTSE China 50 Index, which will take effect on September 22, 2025. New stocks such as BeOne Medicines, Eoptolink, WuXi AppTec, and Zhongji Innolight have been included, while traditional dividend stocks like China National Nuclear Power have been removed. The FTSE China A50 Index consists of the 50 largest A-share companies and must comply with foreign ownership restrictions and the qualifications for the northbound Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect. On September 3rd, FTSE Russell announced quarterly review changes for the FTSE China 50 Index, FTSE China A50 Index, FTSE China A150 Index, FTSE China A200 Index, FTSE China A400 Index, etc. These changes will take effect after the market closes on Friday, September 19, 2025 (i.e., Monday, September 22, 2025).
Taking the FTSE China A50 Index as an example, Beigene-U, Eoptolink, WuXi AppTec, Zhongji Innolight have been added to the constituent stock list, while China National Nuclear Power, China Unicom, Guodian NARI, Wanhua Chemical have been removed. Additionally, if any constituent stocks are removed, they will be supplemented from China Minmetals Bank, Luoyang Molybdenum, Tonghuashun, SAIC Motor, and Seres.
In simple terms, multiple stocks from the innovative drug and CPO sectors have been included in the FTSE China A50 Index, while some traditional dividend stocks have been removed.
The FTSE website indicates that the FTSE China A50 Index is a real-time tradable index composed of the 50 largest A-share companies. The constituent stocks must comply with foreign ownership restrictions (i.e., not exceeding the foreign shareholding limit) and must meet the eligibility criteria for the northbound Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect program (implemented since the quarterly review in June 2022).
At the same time, the constituents of the FTSE China A150 Index have also changed, with China National Nuclear Power, China Unicom, Hua Hong Semiconductor, Guodian NARI, Shengyi Technology, Shenzhen South China Circuit, Dongshan Precision, Tianfu Communication, Shenghong Technology, Wanhua Chemical being included, while Beigene-U, Shouchao Securities, Eoptolink, Huadian International, Huayu Automotive, Aimeike, Jinshiyuan, JinkoSolar, WuXi AppTec, Zhongji Innolight have been removed.
It can be seen that stocks such as Beigene-U, Eoptolink, WuXi AppTec, and Zhongji Innolight have entered the FTSE China A50 Index due to their strong performance within the year.
