The Meta Connect conference will be held from September 17 to 18, with expectations to launch new AI glasses. Analysts predict that Meta's Hypernova glasses will enter mass production in 2025, with an estimated shipment of about 150,000 to 200,000 units. Huatai Securities is optimistic about the growth potential of the AI + AR glasses industry chain, believing that new product launches by leading companies will catalyze the development of the industry chain. China Merchants International is also optimistic about the AI glasses market, believing that the related supply chain will benefit from strong product growth
According to the Zhitong Finance APP, this year's Meta Connect conference will kick off on September 17-18.
According to Meta's CTO, Meta is expected to release the display smart glasses Celeste, the third-generation Ray-Ban-Meta glasses, and the sports version Oakley glasses at the conference, and may showcase a new "metaverse software" that redefines AI glasses from hardware, interaction, and software perspectives.
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's latest forecast, Meta's upcoming AI glasses Hypernova are expected to begin mass production in the third quarter of 2025, with a product lifecycle of two years and an estimated shipment volume of about 150,000 to 200,000 units over the next two years. Kuo stated that AI will be the most important selling point of Hypernova. Currently, the integration of AI and AR applications is still in the early stages, and with a price tag of about $800, this may be the main reason for Meta's conservative outlook on Hypernova's shipment volume.
Huatai Securities pointed out that, in addition to Meta, domestic companies such as Xiaomi, Rokid, Thunder, and Xreal have successively launched AI/AR glasses since the beginning of the year, while leading foreign companies like Google, Samsung, Apple, and Amazon are gradually clarifying their hardware and software plans for AI/AR glasses. We remain optimistic about the long-term potential of glasses as an Always-on interaction entry point in the context of improving AI model capabilities; at the same time, we suggest paying attention to the short-term catalysts brought by the recent product launches of leading companies to the supply chain.
CMB International released a research report stating that it continues to be optimistic about the vigorous development of the AI glasses industry, believing that the strong growth of Ray-Ban Meta glasses in the first half of the year, Xiaomi's target of 500,000 units for AI glasses, the rich product pipeline of various brands, and the continuously expanding ecosystem with artificial intelligence functions and application scenarios will pave the way for growth in the related supply chain in the second half of this year.
