Yang Jun, the Vice President of Bank of China, has officially "taken office."

On the evening of August 18, Bank of China announced that it had recently received approval from the National Financial Regulatory Administration for Yang Jun's qualification as Vice President of Bank of China. Yang Jun will assume the position of Vice President starting from August 14, 2025.

Thus, Bank of China once again has a parachuted Vice President "taking office."

Approval Process Was Quite Fast

The approval process for Yang Jun's Vice President qualification was remarkably "swift."

On July 18 of this year, Bank of China announced that the board of directors had approved the appointment of Yang Jun as Vice President of the bank. Less than a month later, Yang Jun received regulatory approval.

After Yang Jun's qualification was approved, the leadership team of Bank of China includes Chairman Ge Haijiao (who has long worked at Agricultural Bank), Vice Chairman and President Zhang Hui (who has long worked at Bank of Communications), Vice President Wu Jian (who has long worked at Everbright Bank), Vice President Cai Zhao (who has long worked at Agricultural Bank), and Secretary of the Board Zhuo Chengwen, among others. The characteristic of "diverse backgrounds" is now an important personnel feature of the senior management at Bank of China.

"Old Construction Bank" Parachuted In

Public information shows that Yang Jun was born in 1972 and has long worked at China Construction Bank. He joined Bank of China in 2025.

Yang Jun graduated from Tsinghua University in 1996 with a master's degree in engineering and obtained a doctorate in management from Tsinghua University in 2003. He holds the title of Senior Economist.

In his early years, Yang Jun served as Assistant General Manager of the Risk Monitoring Department and Risk Management Department at China Construction Bank, Deputy General Manager of the Risk Management Department and Deputy General Manager of the Market Risk Management Department, and Vice President of the Hubei Branch. From June 2018 to September 2020, he served as General Manager of the Risk Management Department at China Construction Bank. From December 2020 to July 2024, he was the President of the Shandong Branch of China Construction Bank. From December 2024 to June 2025, he served as General Manager of the Asset Management Department (Pension Finance Department) of China Construction Bank Group.
