Geely, determined to reclaim the title of "self-owned king," has laid its ambitions bare.
On August 14, Geely Holding announced its mid-term performance report for 2025. Driven by a 47% increase in sales in the first half of the year, Geely Holding's revenue grew nearly 30% year-on-year, reaching 150.3 billion yuan, a record high.
According to Geely, the company's market share in the first half of the year surpassed 10% for the first time, which it attributes to the synergistic effects released by the "One Geely" strategy.
In 2025, Geely's new energy vehicles are expected to see a surge of popular models across various segments. In the first half of the year, the total sales of new energy vehicles from Geely's three major brands exceeded 725,000 units, with a new energy penetration rate of 51.5%. Notably, after upgrading the Galaxy series to an independent brand, its sales reached 548,000 units in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 232%, with cumulative sales surpassing 1.2 million units by the end of July.
In addition to flourishing in the mainstream market, the high-end luxury brand segment also performed impressively. ZEEKR and Lynk & Co formed a "dual-wheel drive" pattern in the high-end luxury market, with sales of 90,000 and 150,000 units, respectively, in the first half of the year.
Based on the unexpectedly strong market performance, Geely announced that it would raise its annual sales target from 2.71 million to 3 million units. In the second half of the year, Geely will intensively launch new products, totaling five new energy products.
However, amid increasingly fierce market competition, Geely's net profit in the first half of the year fell by 14% year-on-year, ultimately recording 9.29 billion yuan. This means that for Geely to reach a new scale, releasing scale effects will be key to boosting profits. As for how to consolidate product competitiveness and maintain the upward sales momentum, Geely's solution is to bet on AI.
Looking back, as the only global automaker to complete a comprehensive AI layout, Geely launched its "Smart Geely 2025" strategy in 2021, planning to release the industry's first "full-domain AI" technology system for smart vehicles by 2025, forming a technical foundation supported by the "three pillars" of computing power, algorithms, and data.
Among them, the Xingrui Intelligent Computing Center 2.0 has a computing power of 23.5 EFLOPS, and the Xingrui AI large model has been applied, promoting the rapid mass production of intelligent technology. In the field of assisted driving, Geely released the Qianli Haohan assisted driving system, which has "full-domain, all-direction, and all-time" perception capabilities without blind spots; the FlymeAuto intelligent cockpit has surpassed one million users.
On the other hand, the continuous iteration of Geely's three-electric technology has also contributed to product competitiveness. It launched the Xingrui AI Cloud Power 2.0, an intelligent agent based on the AI scenario engine, and the Thor AI hybrid engine boasts leading thermal efficiency, with multiple models achieving ultra-low fuel consumption and ultra-long range.
In addition to consolidating product strength, Geely's second strategy is to accelerate external expansion.
In the first half of 2025, Geely's export sales exceeded 180,000 units, and the Geely brand's global sales network covers 85 countries and regions, launching 10 models in key markets. Meanwhile, the Egyptian factory has commenced production, and the Indonesian factory has successfully entered trial production In the high-end market, ZEEKR and Lynk & Co have also performed outstandingly in the international market. As of now, ZEEKR has over 70 stores in more than 40 countries or regions; Lynk & Co has 7 clubs and 58 dealers in Europe; ZEEKR Technology has over 1,200 stores globally.
With the deepening of the "One Geely" strategy, the internal synergy of the company will be further released, and Geely Auto's global competitiveness in the intelligent new energy sector will be upgraded again, moving towards the annual target of 3 million vehicles
