Against the backdrop of a surge in demand for gaming monitors, industry giants are joining forces. A typical case is the deepening collaboration between international chip giant Intel and display panel leader TCL Huaxing since last year in the field of gaming displays.
Recently, during the global digital entertainment event ChinaJoy 2025, Zong Ye, General Manager of Intel's Client and Platform Sales Division in China, mentioned in an exclusive dialogue with Wall Street Insights that Intel hopes to collaborate with a wide range of ecosystem partners, including TCL Huaxing, to meet the needs of gamers, while further enhancing Intel's investment in the gaming market and expanding its layout in the gaming market.
Previously, Intel and TCL Huaxing's collaboration mainly included: jointly developing green all-in-one technology; TCL Huaxing becoming a sponsor of the Intel Master Challenge, with event projects including Naraka: Bladepoint and Fearless Contract, using gaming monitors supplied by TCL Huaxing for competitions.
Zong Ye revealed that Intel and TCL Huaxing are also planning to jointly promote continuous innovation in gaming monitors through technological complementarity.
First, they will focus on AI deep empowerment of display experiences. Zong Ye pointed out that the industry generally believes this year is the "first year" for AI applications to land, and in the future, they will combine Intel's processor technology with TCL Huaxing's display technology, using AI technology to optimize dynamic picture quality and achieve some display adaptability by predicting changes in user behavior.
In addition, Intel and TCL Huaxing also plan to jointly promote the standardization of the entire gaming industry, including monitor resolution, etc. "The gaming industry is becoming increasingly mature and developing rapidly, which requires the establishment of certain standards, and the corresponding standards vary depending on the type of games."
At the same time, Zong Ye revealed that both parties also plan to enhance the exploration of immersive experiences in monitors through NPU.
"The gaming experience is a comprehensive experience, especially as many games become increasingly realistic, which requires the entire gaming and esports industry chain to work together to present an outstanding experience for players. For example, in Black Myth: Wukong, everyone is very concerned about its color reproduction, detail, high-quality display, and frame stability."
Zong Ye pointed out that this cannot be achieved by just one company in the industry chain; it requires the entire industry chain, including monitors, memory, motherboards, GPUs, CPUs, cooling systems, etc., to optimize the entire system together, which is a challenge for further enhancing user experience in gaming monitors.
What Intel is doing now is to work with more partners to enhance users' gaming experiences.
In fact, for more than twenty years, Intel has consistently invested in the gaming market, proposing overall solutions to enhance user experience.
In the context of the rapid development of the gaming industry today, Intel is also showing its determination to further strengthen its investment in the gaming market. The reason for choosing to collaborate with TCL Huaxing, Zong Ye pointed out, is that TCL Huaxing has ranked first in global market share and shipment volume of gaming MNT (monitors) for three consecutive years, and collaborating with them can further enhance Intel's influence in the gaming industry chain In addition, both parties can achieve technological complementarity, providing users with a better experience through the integration of "screen and chip."
For TCL Huaxing, e-sports displays are also an important track.
As a global leader in semiconductor displays, TCL Huaxing, established in 2009, started with large-sized LCD TV screens, primarily focusing on TV and mobile-related display panels in the past. In 2019, TCL Huaxing began to enter the mid-sized e-sports screen market, which is currently mainly produced at TCL Huaxing's Suzhou base.
At the media exchange during ChinaJoy 2025, Zhao Jun, Senior Vice President of TCL Technology and CEO of TCL Huaxing, stated that currently, one out of every three e-sports monitors globally uses TCL Huaxing screens.
At the ChinaJoy 2025 exhibition, TCL Huaxing focused on showcasing e-sports display solutions covering "full size, full scene, and full category," and introduced several heavyweight printed OLED products.
Meanwhile, Li Shanyong, Director of the IT SBU MNT Product Department at TCL Huaxing, shared the company's new breakthroughs in e-sports MNT display technology and released HVA Fast, HVA Black, and HFS Shoot display technologies to precisely match the needs of players in racing games, AAA, and FPS games.
In recent years, with the rapid rise of the e-sports industry, the demand for e-sports displays has surged, creating a remarkable growth curve in the overall panel industry as it slowly recovers, with continuous expansion in scale.
According to data from Lottu Technology, in the first half of 2025, the total sales volume of the overall online retail market for monitors in mainland China reached 6.42 million units, a year-on-year increase of 29.7%.
Lottu Technology believes that the booming development of the e-sports monitor market can be attributed to five main reasons. First, the development of the e-sports industry is core, with the booming e-sports events and the release of domestic AAA games catalyzing the e-sports hardware market. Second, the prices of e-sports monitors are rapidly becoming more affordable; third, product performance continues to improve.
Fourth, the application scenarios for e-sports monitors have expanded from gaming to office work, professional design, etc., further opening up market space; fifth, the proactive product layout by panel and complete machine manufacturers, along with innovative marketing, has increased effective supply while reaching more users.
In the face of the booming e-sports market, Zhao Jun also pointed out that in the future, TCL Huaxing will continue to build a family of e-sports products to meet global consumer demand with full-size/full-scene e-sports displays (mobile phones, tablets, laptops, monitors, Gaming TVs, etc.) and apply diverse technologies to enrich and expand the e-sports display track and scenarios, achieving new growth.
Against the backdrop of efforts across the entire industry chain, a more immersive gaming world is accelerating its arrival
