On the news front, on the evening of July 29, Li Auto officially launched its first pure electric SUV - the Li Auto i8. Notably, the final official guide price for the Li Auto i8 is set at RMB 321,800 to RMB 369,800, with a total of three configuration models released. This price is lower than the previously announced pre-sale price range of RMB 350,000 to RMB 400,000. CMB International believes that although the i8's pricing is better than expected, there may be a gap between the configuration and consumer expectations. Additionally, the "heavy truck collision test" at the Li Auto i8 launch event sparked controversy. According to reports, in the test video, the Li Auto i8 performed excellently in various indicators; however, the heavy truck's four wheels lifted off the ground, and there was a noticeable separation between the cab and the rear cargo box, with the cab flipping up and nearly pressing against the front window of the Li Auto i8. In response, Li Auto stated that the super experiment of the Li Auto i8 colliding with a truck is a simulation based on real user traffic scenarios, fully entrusted to a professional third-party testing agency for testing and certification. The testing site, testing equipment, and randomly purchased test trucks from the market were all provided by the testing agency, with no specifications designated
