Meta's superintelligence team has been revealed, with about 50% of its 44 members coming from China, 75% holding doctoral degrees, and 70% being researchers. The annual salaries of team members are expected to range from $10 million to $100 million. Some members come from prestigious universities, such as Tsinghua University and Peking University, and members from OpenAI and DeepMind also make up a certain proportion. Nevertheless, the list may not be complete, lacking some key figures
Investor Deedy Das from the venture capital firm Menlo Ventures shared a chart on the X platform, detailing the 44 members of Meta's superintelligence team, sourced from an anonymous Meta employee.
About 21 of the members are from China, with 8 graduates from Tsinghua University, while the remaining members come from other prestigious universities such as Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, University of Science and Technology of China, Tongji University, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, Nankai University, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology. 75% of the team members hold a PhD, and 70% are researchers. Members from OpenAI account for 40%, DeepMind for 20%, and Scale for 15%. Additionally, 20% of the members are at the L8+ level, and 75% are first-generation immigrants. The annual salaries of these members are estimated to be between $10 million and $100 million.
However, there are also voices of skepticism pointing out that this list may not be complete, as key figures such as Alexandr Wang and Pang Ruoming seem to be missing, suggesting that the actual composition of the team may be larger than indicated by the list.
