In-depth collaboration with Google! Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 officially released with Gemini AI

According to Zhitong Finance APP, Samsung (SSNLF.US) officially launched the Galaxy Z Fold7 at the 2025 new product launch event held on Wednesday. This model is equipped with Google's (GOOGL.US) Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) engine, further deepening the cooperation between the two parties.

Choi Won-jun, President of Samsung's Mobile Experience Division, stated: "Our newly designed One UI 8 system is built around AI. Today, multimodal AI technology has allowed us to witness revolutionary breakthroughs—intelligent systems that can simultaneously understand text, audio, and visual information. Your device can understand the contextual scene through visual perception. Our goal is to integrate AI assistants and multimodal capabilities throughout the entire mobile experience... creating an intelligent system that not only understands users but also anticipates their needs."

It was introduced that the next-generation Galaxy Z Fold7 comes with multiple Google Gemini features, including Gemini Live real-time recognition, select-and-search, and advanced AI mode. Users purchasing the device can enjoy a 6-month Google AI Pro membership and 2TB of cloud storage.

Rick Osterloh, Senior Vice President of Google Devices and Services, stated: "Gemini Live enables real-time interaction through the camera—point it at the refrigerator for recipe suggestions or scan the wardrobe for outfit ideas."

Compared to the previous generation, the Z Fold7's CPU performance has increased by 38%, NPU by 41%, and GPU by 26%, featuring Qualcomm's (QCOM.US) Snapdragon 8 Elite processor customized for Samsung. The main screen expands to 8 inches from the previous 7.6 inches, while the outer screen uses Corning Gorilla Glass 2nd generation ceramic glass.

In terms of the imaging system, it is equipped with a 200-megapixel wide-angle main camera, supports night video shooting, and adds intelligent editing features such as side-by-side editing and audio elimination.

The overall thickness sets a new record for Samsung's foldable screens, measuring only 8.9 mm when folded and as thin as 4.2 mm when unfolded. Battery life has significantly improved, supporting continuous video playback for 8 hours.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is now available for pre-order, officially launching on July 25, with color options including Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Obsidian Black, and Mint Green. Samsung's official website lists the price of the 512GB version at $1999.99 and the 1TB version at $2269.99.

Also launched at the event were the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE, with starting prices of $1099.99 and $899.99, respectively, with pre-order and launch dates synchronized with the Fold7.

Samsung also introduced the lighter and thinner new Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic smartwatches, focusing on health monitoring, sleep analysis, and schedule management, equipped with Gemini AI technology, starting at $429 and $549, respectively.

The event also announced the acquisition of the digital health platform Xealth, which is dedicated to providing digital health management tools for both patients and healthcare providers Lu Taiwen, head of Samsung Electronics' Device Experience Division, stated: "By integrating Samsung's innovative technology with open collaboration with industry-leading companies, we are committed to improving the health level of the entire population.
