Foreign media reports: The U.S. government has notified GE Aerospace that it can resume supplying jet engines to COMAC

According to a report by Reuters on the 3rd, a source revealed that the U.S. government informed General Electric Aerospace on the same day that it could resume supplying jet engines to Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC). The report stated that this is another sign of easing trade tensions between the U.S. and China.

The report cited another source who said that at least one other aerospace company had its license in China reinstated on Thursday (the 3rd), but the source declined to disclose which company it was.

Reuters stated that General Electric, the U.S. Department of Commerce that issued the notification, and the spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in the U.S. did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the above news.

As this news broke, Reuters mentioned that the U.S. also lifted export restrictions to China on chip design software developers and ethane producers this week, indicating that trade negotiations between the U.S. and China are progressing.

On June 27, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce of China answered questions from reporters regarding the U.S.-China London Framework, stating that recently, with approval, both sides further confirmed the details of the framework. The Chinese side will legally review export applications for controlled items that meet the criteria. The U.S. side will correspondingly lift a series of restrictive measures taken against China. Regarding the confirmation of the London Framework details by China and the U.S., at a regular press conference on June 27, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiaqin stated in response to inquiries that the spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce had already answered questions from reporters.
