A total of 500 vehicles! In the evening, the Xiaomi factory roadside, the YU7 display vehicles are being transported nationwide! Lei Jun talks about the price again: everyone will definitely find it reasonable

Xiaomi Auto is transporting the new YU7 display vehicles nationwide, planning to complete the transportation of 500 vehicles by June 26. Lei Jun responded to speculation about the pricing of the YU7, stating that its configuration is higher than that of the SU7, and the price will be considered reasonable. The YU7 has a range of 835km and is equipped with lidar and high-performance chips. Lei Jun is optimistic about the sales impact of the YU7 on the SU7, believing that both have their unique features
"We are all in line, waiting to transport the new car (Xiaomi YU7) that is about to be launched to Xiaomi's offline stores across the country." On June 24, a yellow tow truck stopped by the roadside of the Xiaomi factory. The driver told the Daily Economic News reporter that the transportation of the Xiaomi YU7 display cars began around June 20, and the manufacturer requested the completion of transporting 500 display cars by June 26.
The reporter observed on-site that dozens of tow trucks were parked on both sides of the road outside the north gate one and north gate two of the Xiaomi automobile factory in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone (hereinafter referred to as the Development Zone). In the parking lot of the first phase of the Xiaomi automobile factory, there were a few Xiaomi YU7s wrapped in silver car covers.

"In the parking lot, the number of Xiaomi YU7s coming off the production line varies every day." A staff member at the Xiaomi automobile super factory told the reporter that in recent days, the factory has been gradually sending cars to places across the country that do not yet have Xiaomi YU7 display cars.
On May 22, at the Beijing National Convention Center, Xiaomi's second model—the Xiaomi YU7—was officially launched. Regarding the external speculation that the Xiaomi YU7 is priced at 199,000 yuan, Lei Jun previously responded at the launch event, "This is impossible. For the configuration comparable to Model Y, it would be sold for around 300,000 yuan."

On June 25, Lei Jun, chairman of Xiaomi Group, posted on Weibo that many people online are guessing the price, stating that the standard version of YU7 is 20,000 to 30,000 yuan more expensive than the standard version of SU7. He has publicly denied this, as the standard version of YU7 has very high specifications, comparable to the Max version or even Ultra version of competitors in the industry. Looking at the specifications: LCLTC range of 835km, laser radar, Thor chip with 700TOPS computing power, and panoramic screen, etc. As for the pricing, it will be announced at the launch event, "At that time, everyone will definitely feel that this price is reasonable." At the same time, Lei Jun also stated that he is not worried that YU7 will affect SU7 sales. Both YU7 and SU7 are very distinctive products. He believes that after the release of YU7, SU7 will still be one of the best-selling sedans.
Phase II project for Xiaomi YU7 construction has begun equipment debugging
On June 23, Lei Jun, Chairman of Xiaomi Corporation, announced that the Xiaomi YU7 will officially launch on the evening of June 26. "There will be more people rushing to book the Xiaomi YU7 than the Xiaomi SU7, and those who want to get the car without queuing will be tested on their speed." Several Xiaomi car sales personnel in Beijing told reporters.
The reporter learned from internal staff at Xiaomi Motors that the current model of the Xiaomi YU7 is produced within the Xiaomi Motors factory, while the second phase project of the Xiaomi Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Base, located adjacent to the Xiaomi Motors factory, has not yet begun production. "The second phase project is mainly built for the Xiaomi YU7 and will soon begin production," said a staff member at the Xiaomi Motors super factory store.
According to a notice released by the Beijing Economic Development Zone Development and Construction Bureau on July 25, 2024, the state-owned construction land use rights for the industrial project at Block YZ00-0606, Yizhuang New Town, were won by Xiaomi Jingxi Technology Co., Ltd. for approximately 842 million yuan. During the visit, the reporter saw that the factory and office buildings for the Xiaomi Motors second phase project have been completed. Moreover, the "Xiaomi" logo at the entrance of the second phase project has also been installed, but it is currently covered with green mesh fabric. "There are people working in the factory at night; we are currently on three shifts, working overtime," a third-party equipment supplier for the Xiaomi Motors second phase project told reporters.
Another equipment supplier for the Xiaomi Motors second phase project stated that the factory has begun equipment debugging and is not far from official production. "Our company has basically completed the debugging work for the section, but it is still unclear when the factory will officially start production," said the equipment supplier.
Will the second phase project increase capacity faster?
According to the plan, Xiaomi Motors has constructed a complete vehicle manufacturing factory in two phases in the Beijing Economic Development Zone, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles each. The second phase project is planned to start construction in 2024 and be completed in 2025. "The second phase project is built for the Xiaomi YU7, and once it officially starts production, its capacity increase will be faster than that of Xiaomi Motors' current factory, and the delivery pressure will also be relatively smaller," said the staff member at the Xiaomi Motors super factory store
