
Long-term/short-term UK bond yields fluctuate differently as investors weigh US CPI data against trade conditions
On Wednesday (June 11), in the European market's late trading session, the yield on the UK 10-year government bond rose by 1.0 basis points to 4.552%. It fluctuated upward during the day, reaching a daily high of 4.607% at 18:49 Beijing time. When the US CPI data was released at 20:30, it plummeted from above 4.60% to nearly 4.57%, followed by low-level fluctuations, but remained in an upward trend throughout the day. The yield on the 2-year UK bond fell by 0.7 basis points to 3.913%, refreshing its daily high to 3.961% at 17:40, and dropped to 3.93% near the daily high when the US CPI data was released. The yield on the 30-year UK bond rose by 2.3 basis points, and the yield on the 50-year UK bond rose by 2.8 basis points.
