
Federal Reserve's Bowman: Will address the secret rating issues of large banks
Federal Reserve Governor and incoming Vice Chair for Supervision, Michelle Bowman, stated that the Federal Reserve will soon address the "strange mismatch" between the confidential ratings of large banks and their financial conditions. In a speech at the Pisarro Financial Markets and Policy Center event at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business on Friday, Bowman noted that Federal Reserve data shows that while the capital and liquidity of most U.S. banks meet regulatory expectations, two-thirds of large U.S. banks still have unsatisfactory ratings in the first half of 2024
