According to an annual Federal Reserve survey on household economics and decision-making, Americans' overall financial situation remained stable at the end of last year, and their outlook on the economy was slightly less pessimistic. The report indicates that consumer personal financial conditions have remained stable ahead of the presidential election in November 2024. As of October 2024, about 73% of adults reported that their "financial situation is fair or comfortable," a figure that is roughly in line with 72% in 2023 but still below the 78% peak recorded in 2021.
