The Tariff Commission of the State Council announced the adjustment of tariff measures on imported goods originating from the United States

In order to implement the important consensus reached during the high-level economic and trade talks between China and the United States, and in accordance with the "Customs Law of the People's Republic of China," "Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China," and other laws and regulations as well as basic principles of international law, the State Council has approved the announcement by the Tariff Commission of the State Council. Starting from May 14, 2025, at 12:01 PM, the additional tariff rate specified in the "Announcement of the Tariff Commission of the State Council on the Imposition of Additional Tariffs on Imported Goods Originating from the United States" will be adjusted from 34% to 10%, and the 24% additional tariff rate on the United States will be suspended for 90 days. From May 14, 2025, at 12:01 PM, the additional tariff measures specified in the "Announcement of the Tariff Commission of the State Council on Adjusting Additional Tariff Measures on Imported Goods Originating from the United States" will be stopped. This significant reduction in bilateral tariff levels between China and the United States meets the expectations of producers and consumers in both countries, facilitates economic and trade exchanges between China and the United States, and benefits the global economy
