As of the time of writing, SUNNY OPTICAL (02382) rose by 6.13% to HKD 68.35; AAC TECH (02018) increased by 5.44% to HKD 38.75; BYD ELECTRONIC (00285) climbed by 5.7% to HKD 35.25; COWELL (01415) went up by 4.33% to HKD 22.9; and Q TECH (01478) rose by 4.48% to HKD 6.76.
On the news front, according to CCTV News, China and the United States have reached an important consensus, and the talks have made substantial progress. Both sides have agreed to establish a China-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism. The two sides will finalize the relevant details as soon as possible and will release a joint statement on the outcomes of the talks on May 12.
