On March 6th, Alibaba Cloud held the "Alibaba Cloud Global Summit" during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. This marks Alibaba Cloud's debut with an AI cloud image, sounding the horn for a global offensive.
Liu Weiguang, Senior Vice President of Alibaba Cloud Intelligent Group and President of the Public Cloud Division, stated, "From the very first day of its establishment, Alibaba Cloud has positioned itself as a global company. After more than a decade of technological exploration and business practice, it has entered the first tier of international cloud vendors. Starting this year, Alibaba Cloud will invest unprecedented resources and more resolutely expand into overseas markets."
In recent years, Alibaba Cloud has experienced rapid growth in international markets, with its market size increasing more than 20 times over five years.
According to the Frost & Sullivan "2024 China Enterprises Going Global Cloud Services Market Report," Alibaba Cloud's competitiveness in overseas markets mainly stems from its globally distributed cloud computing infrastructure and rich product matrix, internationally recognized compliance qualifications and certifications, localized services with global consistent responses, and leading AI capabilities.
Alibaba Cloud's cloud services cover 29 public cloud regions and 87 public cloud availability zones worldwide, providing 394 cloud and AI products and 59 technical services through a global network.
At the same time, Alibaba Cloud offers multilingual services to over 200 countries, fully constructing a localized service and response system. With more than 10,000 global employees, 2 global service centers, 4 regional service centers, and 18 local service teams, it provides 24/7 service.
In the new wave of AI, Alibaba Cloud insists on self-research and open-source development, with the Tongyi model family having launched dozens of large models, including large language, multimodal, mathematical, and code models. Additionally, Alibaba Qwen, an open-source large model, ranks first among the largest open-source models globally.
As of now, Alibaba Cloud has served over 300,000 customers overseas, including more than one-third of the Fortune Global 500 companies, and has supported over 250,000 Chinese enterprises going global.
Leading Chinese automotive companies have collaborated with Alibaba Cloud for their overseas expansion. Companies like ZEEKR and XPeng have quickly responded to changes in overseas markets through Alibaba Cloud's elastic computing services.
The consumer electronics and home appliance industries are advantageous categories for China, and leading companies in these sectors are partnering with Alibaba Cloud to strengthen their competitiveness overseas. Transsion Holdings has utilized Tongyi Qwen in its newly launched AI smartphones, and Midea Group has collaborated with Alibaba Cloud to build a digital foundation for its overseas business.
At the same time, global giants entering the Chinese market have also chosen Alibaba Cloud as their partner. Companies like ATP, General Mills (China), and Adidas (China) have made this choice.
Chinese internet companies, which are large in scale and have high technical requirements, also prefer Alibaba Cloud for their overseas ventures, including MiHoYo, Xiaohongshu, Trip.com, Tuya, and Paper Games.
