Xiaomi press conference live: Xiaomi 15 Ultra starting price at 6499 yuan, Xiaomi's AI R&D investment this year accounts for 1/4 of the total

On February 27th, Xiaomi held the launch event for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.

First, Xiaomi Group CEO Lei Jun delivered a speech. He stated that Xiaomi insists on building its business on technology, with an expected R&D investment of 105 billion yuan over the five years from 2021 to 2025, and an anticipated 30 billion yuan in 2025, with AI and related businesses accounting for one-quarter.

According to Xiaomi Auto's Weibo news, as of the end of last year, the Xiaomi SU7 had been on the market for only 9 months, with a cumulative lock order exceeding 248,000 and cumulative deliveries exceeding 135,000; the charging network has connected 1.02 million public charging piles, leading in compatibility, covering 365 cities.

Next, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which comes in four color options, including two color mixes, classic black and silver, and pine green. The price starts at 6,499 yuan.

Xiaomi Vice President Lu Bingwei stated that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra places greater emphasis on heat dissipation, supports offline calls, and challenges the industry's longest 7km two-way call;

It adopts a 4 low-frequency and 6 mid-high frequency antenna T1+TIS+TIS three-core design, and also employs AI signal enhancement for directional optimization in weak signal scenarios.

In terms of imaging, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra can achieve a "triple lens" in your pocket, covering the three major focal lengths commonly used. Each focal length has seamless transitions, supporting 28x lossless zoom.

On the occasion of the fourth anniversary of its collaboration with Leica, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra adopts new lens processes and materials to create the Leica ultra-pure optical system.

The ultra-transparent lens material has an extremely high light transmittance, reducing image haze, with a 26% reduction in haze and a 20% reduction in coating haze

Compared to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, it is complex and not transparent.

Lu Weibing stated that "the imaging of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra can be summarized as one emperor and one empress," where "one emperor" refers to the 1-inch ultra-large main camera, aiming to achieve the imaging ceiling of a 1-inch main camera; "one empress" refers to the 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.

At the same time, Xiaomi has fully upgraded its portrait large model platform.

In terms of video, Xiaomi is the first in the Android camp to support the Oscar ACES film-level professional color system. Additionally, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra also offers a professional photography kit this time.
