[Max] Levchin is playing with Musk in a friend's bachelor apartment. Some people are engaged in a high-stakes game of Texas Hold'em. Although Musk is not good at playing cards, he still sits down at the table. "It's all nerds and smart guys there, they are good at card counting and calculating odds," Levchin said. "Elon goes All In every hand and then loses. Then he buys more chips and doubles down. Eventually, after losing a lot of hands, he goes all in and wins. Then he says, 'Okay, I'm done.'
This would become the theme of his life: avoiding taking chips off the table; continuing to take risks.
