Hang Seng Indexes Company: Changes to the Calculation Method of the Hang Seng Hong Kong-Mainland Technology Index and the Hang Seng China High Dividend Yield Index
On February 14th, the Hang Seng Index Company announced that the Hang Seng Hong Kong-Mainland Technology Index will undergo changes, requiring Hong Kong stock constituents to meet the eligibility criteria for the Hong Kong Stock Connect, while the U.S. stock constituents will be fixed to the seven major U.S. technology giants. The new calculation method will be applied for the index review as of December 31, 2024, and the related constituent changes will take effect on March 10, 2025 (Monday). In addition, the Hang Seng Index Company also announced changes to the calculation method of the Hang Seng China High Dividend Yield Index. The Hang Seng China High Dividend Yield Index will be modified, with the implementation date for annual index adjustments set for the last Friday of April. Furthermore, the results of the annual index review are typically announced one week prior to the implementation date.
