The S&P 500 Index initially closed up 0.6% on the "non-farm payrolls day," with the energy sector rising 2.1%, the technology sector up 1.5%, the telecommunications sector increasing by 0.5%, while the financial sector fell by 0.8%.
The Nasdaq 100 Index initially closed up 1.2%, with constituent stock Palantir rising 4.9%, Broadcom, Grail, Trade Desk, Micron Technology, and Adobe all rising over 4%, while Tesla fell 3%, ranking second to last, and ON Semiconductor dropped 8.1%.
McDonald's initially closed up 4.8%, with Nvidia and Nike rising over 3%, leading the Dow components, while Disney fell 1.6%, ranking third to last, JP Morgan dropped 1.8%, and American Express fell 2%.
The Philadelphia Bank Index fell 1.6%
